Atherosclerosis

Atherosclerosis is the build up of fatty deposits and plaque on the inside of the artery walls and is the cause of more deaths in America than all forms of cancers combined!

The build up of fatty deposits and plaque within the arteries is a slow process brought on by poor nutrition and lifestyle choices. Over time, the build up of deposits can begin to dramatically affect the flow of blood to the heart and other areas of the body.

Coronary heart disease, heart attacks, strokes, peripheral arterial disease and many other heart diseases are all the cause of atherosclerosis.

The cause of atherosclerosis comes back to nutrition and lifestyle choices. Consumption of hydrogenated fats, sugars, lack of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, stress and smoking all contribute towards the development of atherosclerotisis.

Check out this short documentary I posted on YouTube showing and explaining one of the causes of atherosclerosis as well as a visual look at what atherosclerosis looks like.
